Teacher Education at The New School for Music Study
The Frances Clark Center for Keyboard Pedagogy is a not-for-profit educational institution (501c3) located in Kingston, New Jersey. The Frances Clark Center advances its goals and serves local, national, and international audiences through its three divisions: The New School for Music Study, the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy, and the Piano Magazine.
The Frances Clark Center offers a range of teacher education initiatives. Teacher Education at The New School for Music Study builds on the educational philosophy and legacy of renowned founders Frances Clark and Louise Goss. Housed in a historic building in Princeton, NJ, these teacher education programs have produced internationally recognized teachers and performers. The Center is globally recognized for teacher education in piano. All teacher education programming is made possible by the Elvina Pearce Teacher Education Fund.
"I have participated in The New School's summer intensives, private lessons, and piano pedagogy course. As an experienced piano teacher, I find the reading assignments and projects to be relevant and thought provoking. The class is a comfortable and friendly learning environment. The private piano lessons are outstanding, continually encouraging me to achieve a higher level of musicianship. The adult group performance classes offer an opportunity to experience and improve performance skills. The summer intensives for are an enjoyable 3-day whirlwind of learning. Numerous topics of piano pedagogy are covered. I feel very fortunate to be able to attend The New School for Music Study. I recommend it highly!"
