It is with mixed emotions that we bid farewell to our colleague and friend, Allison Shinnick, as she heads to Ann Arbor to pursue her DMA in Piano Performance and Pedagogy at the University of Michigan. Allison has been on the New School faculty since 2016, and will forever be a part of our NSMS family!
Administrative Director, Rebecca Pennington, writes, "We are so thankful for Allison Shinnick's four years at NSMS. Allison is a kind and caring teacher, who pushes her students to work to their fullest potential. She has an incredible ability to connect positively with everyone she meets, and has created long-lasting relationships during her time at NSMS. We will miss Allison at NSMS, but wish her the very best as she begins her pursuit of a doctoral degree at one of the best schools in the country."
Amy Glennon, NSMS Educational Director adds, "Allison Shinnick has left an indelible mark on her students and colleagues. Her energy and enthusiasm have been an inspiration to us all. Her innate musicianship, unfailing instincts, warmth, and skill make her an especially effective teacher. She will be missed. Very best wishes to Allison!"
