Yu Han

With over 10 years of teaching experience, Yu Han works with students of all ages and levels, from beginners to advanced pianists preparing for examinations, competitions, and performances. She believes that every student learns differently and designs individualized lessons that encourage curiosity, independent thinking, and a lifelong love of music. Her goal is to help students become confident, expressive, and joyful musicians.


Yu holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Composition with a minor in Piano Performance from the University of Arizona. As a pianist, composer, and educator, she draws on her performance, composition, and pedagogical experience to help students build strong technical foundations while fostering creativity, musical expression, and artistic confidence. She also maintains an active career as a performer and composer, receiving commissions from ensembles and musicians across the United States, with her works presented at universities, conferences, and festivals nationwide.


Throughout her career, Yu has been selected for numerous performances and compositions. Her multimedia composition The Beauty Within won the grand prize at the Red Rock Dance Festival, and her work Immune to Love for piano and electronics was showcased at the TURN UP Multimedia Festival in collaboration with the NYU Music Department. Yu has also received commissions from institutions such as the UNLV Dance Department and the UA Choreographic Institute. Her compositions and performance recordings have been broadcast on Performance Today and Tianjin Classical Radio.


Yu is dedicated to providing personalized, one-on-one piano lessons, focusing on nurturing each student's unique talents and goals. Her commitment to each student's progress ensures that learning is both effective and fulfilling.
