Pianist Mingke Zhu is an internationally active soloist and chamber musician whose performances have captivated audiences across the United States, Europe, and Asia. She has appeared on distinguished stages, and made her European orchestral debut in 2015 performing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Orquestra de Câmara de Cascais e Oeiras. Mingke is a prizewinner of several international competitions, including the Concert Artists International Competition, the International Young Artist Piano Competition, the Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition, the Lancaster International Piano Festival Competition, and The Catholic University of America International Piano Competition.
An active participant in major international festivals, Mingke has performed at the Aspen Music Festival, the Orford Music Festival, the Lancaster International Piano Festival, and the Washington International Piano Festival. She has worked with distinguished artists including Michel Béroff, Anton Nel, Gary Graffman, Jeremy Denk, Mikhail Voskresensky, Douglas Humpherys, Meng-Chieh Liu, and Antonio Pompa-Baldi. In addition to her concert career, she was invited to perform with Hub City Opera in 2025 and 2026. Mingke has served as a musician at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New Brunswick, New Jersey, since 2022.
Mingke received her BM in Piano Performance, with a minor in Mathematics, from The Catholic University of America, where she studied with Dr. Ivo Kaltchev. She later earned her MM from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, studying with Brian Ganz. She is currently pursuing her DMA degree at Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts, where she studied with the late John Perry.
As an educator, Mingke is committed to helping students develop strong technical foundations and individual musical voices. Her students have received prizes in numerous competitions, including the Apex International Music Competition, the MTPC Hailun Music Talent Piano Competition in China, and the Camerata Artists International Competition, among others.
