Support an NSMS Partner
Kingston United Methodist Church is an important partner with the New School for Music Study. Not only does the church provide space for our Faculty Concert Series and our Spring Recital Series, they also provide additional lesson space for our students and teachers. The New School supports Kingston United Methodist Church and encourages your support of their church.

2012-2013 Annual Fund

Dear Parents, Adult Students, Alumni, and Friends of the New School,

I write to you as the enthusiastic leader of the newly reconstituted "Parent's Advisory Council," now renamed the "New School Advocacy Council" to reflect the breadth of the school's community and to explicitly highlight the council's mission. The name change was easy. Now for the advocacy:

As we enter 2013, the New School faces two specific, expensive, beyond-the-normal needs: replacing the roof (~$20K) and replacing a 1965 Baldwin grand piano long past its use-by date (~$20K). We know this is a lot of money, and we ask for your help to meet the need. So I happily announce the eighth Annual Fund appeal. Prior contributions have made it possible to buy pianos, a classroom SMART Board, new computers, and to make needed renovations to our cozy Kingston home. Ten percent of contributions to this Annual Fund will be placed into a scholarship fund to make piano instruction affordable for families who need a little extra help to continue their child's dream of learning piano.

The tuition we pay covers the essentials: teacher salaries and benefits, utilities, basic facility upkeep, and piano maintenance. Beyond those essentials, tuition income isn't enough to finance significant maintenance issues, instrument replacement, or the scholarship fund for families in need.

Your contribution to the Annual Fund is like a vitamin that fortifies the school: the facility where we come to learn, the instruments we play and hear, and the breadth of the student body. Please, as you are able, give generously. If your employer has a matching gifts program, please use it to multiply your gift.

On behalf of all of us who love the work and impact of the New School for Music Study, thank you for your continued support.

Happily practicing for my next lesson and repertoire class,

Todd Reichart
President, New School Advocacy Council

The New School for Music Study is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization. All contributions to the fund are fully tax deductible. Contributors will be recognized in NSMS event programs through 2013. Thank you!
